The country’s flag carrier, Philippine airlines, is having low fares from Manila to some parts of Luzon and Mindanao! There’s also a special fare to Jolo!
Manila to Luzon destinations
Their featured destination is Busuanga, which is in Palawan, with an all in fare of Php 1251. That is pretty cheap, if you asked me.
Here is the rest of the Luzon destinations flying from Manila and corresponding all in fares:
Naga, Camarines Sur – Php 1139 only.
Legaspi, Albay, and Tuguegarao, Cagayan – Php 1195 only.
Laoag, Ilocos Norte – Php 1229 only.
Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Masbate, and Busuanga, Palawan – Php 1251 only.
Basco, Batanes – Php 1699 only.
It is great that we have these flights, it gives us an alternative to long bus trips. If you haven’t been to Batanes and want to experience winter-like weather, try going there in January!
Manila to Mindanao destinations
Their featured destination is Davao, with an all in fare of Php 1811. That’s really cheap, compared to traveling via boat and then by bus.
Here is the rest of the Mindanao destinations flying out from Manila and their respective ticket prices:
Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Davao, Ozamiz, Surigao, and Zamboanga – Php 1811 only.
Dipolog, General Santos – Php 1867 only.
Jolo via Zamboanga – Php 3045 only.
If you’re feeling adventurous, book for Jolo and see the hidden gems of the Philippines – deserted beaches and pink sands! Surigao is a worthy place to explore too, your gateway to eastern Mindanao with fantastic destinations such as the Enchanted river in Hinatuan, or even Siargao, the surfing capital of the Philippines.
There is also a special fare from Zamboanga to Jolo that costs Php 1402 only. So if you are from Mindanao and near Zamboanga city, you can travel by bus and fly out from there, availing of the PAL low fares.
Their selling period is up to October 31, 2014, so better book now! Fly date should be between January 10 to March 15, 2015.
